Is it Bologna or Baloney?
Bologna has Italian roots and based off bologna ham, which you slice. It’s like a loaf that you slice to what ever thickness you want for sandwiches. Now the American version is quite similar but you mostly find it pre-sliced and packaged. So some folks write it bologna or as baloney. Doesn’t matter how you write it. Everyone gets it when it say baloney. And that’s no baloney.

Tips on Getting the Egg to Right Texture
So this recipe isn’t rocket science. But there is one challenge: how to get the eggs cooked to your liking.
- typically you would use about 3-4 slices of bologna to create the “bowl”. But the more layers of bologna you have, the longer it takes to cook the whites.
- Thus, if you want a runny egg yolk, it might take longer or to cook the whites. But in that time, the yolk is cooked too.
- So if you like a hard cooked egg yolk, then use more bologna and cook the bowl until everything is set.
- If you want a runny egg yolk, we suggest using just a single slice of bologna, then add the one slice of cheese and one egg on top.
- The single slice of bologna allows the white to cook quicker and it makes it easier to control how much of the yolk that you want cooked.
- After microwaving the bowl for about a minute covered, leave it sitting in the microwave for about a minute before opening it up. This will all the residual heat to help cook the whites without overcooking the yolks. If it isn’t set yet after you check it , cover again, and continue microwave in 15-20 second intervals to get the eggs to you liking.
