How to Air Fry Pork Chops {Seasoned Coating or Breading Mix}

  • We tested several different brands and they really are super similar and cooking times and techniques are the same. How these brands different slightly is in texture and flavor. Some are more seasoned and saltier than others. So just test a few different shake and bake style breading mixes to find the one that best suits your taste!
  • The boxes say to moisten the pork chops first and we added more options to do this: ice water, milk, egg or mayo.

Air Fryer Pork Chops “Shake ’n Bake Style”

Different cuts and thicknesses of pork will determine your final cooking time. After you make your first batch, you'll know what your preferred timing is based on your specific cut of pork chops and size of air fryer.
Most of the shake and bake style seasoned breading mixes say to moisten the chicken. The boxes often will suggest ice water, egg, &/or milk. We added the mayo part because it's a nice option for extra moist chicken. And it also helps the breading stick better.

  • 3 (6oz.) (170 g) pork chops , rinsed & patted dry
  • Ice water, beaten egg, milk, or mayo, to moisten the pork
  • Shake ’n Bake Style Seasoned Coating Mix
  • Oil spray , to coat the pork chops


  • Preheat Air Fryer at 380°F/195°C for 4 minutes.

  • Use ice water, beaten egg, milk, or mayo to moisten the pork chops or moisten based on boxed Seasoned Coating Mix instructions. Coat the pork chops with the seasoned coating mix.

  • Use oil spray to lightly coat air fryer basket/tray or place a perforated parchment sheet in the air fryer basket/tray & lightly coat with oil spray (this helps keep the coating from sticking and coming off).

  • Place the coated pork chops in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Make sure they aren’t touching or the coating may flake off when you flip them. Lightly coat the pork chops with oil spray.

  • Air Fry at 380°F/195°C for about 8-12 minutes. After 6 minutes, flip the pork chops and then continue Air Frying for the remainder of time or until golden and internal temperature reaches 145-160°F, depending on your doneness preference.
