Sizzling Cheeseburger Sliders or Burgers

Use a blocks of cheese then grate it because this ensures that the cheese sauce will be smooth and not gummy. Pre-shredded cheese is often coated with a powder that will cause the sauce to be gummy and waxy. For the perfect juicy beef patties, we prefer a slightly fattier ground beef (an 80/20 or 85/15). Recipe makes about 10 sliders and 8 quarter-pound burgers

    mixing flour and butter
  • Add 2 cups milk and continue whisking then add the 1 teaspoon garlic powder.

    heating pot of milk
  • If the cheese sauce is too thin, you can always add more cheese later or wait until you’re ready to serve it. The cheese sauce should be on the thinner side. As you’re making the burgers, the cheese sauce will cool and will become more thick. When you’re ready to serve the cheese sauce that’s when you can decide if you need to add more cheese to thicken it or more milk to thin it out.
