Do Not pre-heat the air fryer for this recipe. Check out the step by step photos on the website recipe write up. Try to cut the broccoli about the same size as your chicken or a little larger. This recipe will result in CRISPY charred broccoli because the broccoli is cooked together with the chicken in the beginning. FOR REGULAR COOKED BROCCOLI: divide the chicken and broccoli into two separate bowls. Divide the marinade between the two bowls and stir. Cook the chicken first for 10 minutes, then add the brocoli with the partially cooked chicken. Continue air frying and make sure to stir at least one more time halfway through cooking so the broccoli cooks evenly. Cooking time will vary depending on your air fryer (different models all cook at varying rates) and on the size you cut up the chicken and vegetables. This recipe was tested in basket style air fryers.

Ingredients
1pound(454g)boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs , cut into 1" bite sized pieces
1/2pound(227g)broccoli, cut into bite sized pieces (about 2 cups)
salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste
serve with lemon wedges
Marinade Ingredients
3Tablespoons(30ml)vegetable oil
3clovesgarlic, minced or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
1Tablespoon(15ml)soy sauce, or to taste (use Tamari for Gluten Free)
Make the Marinade: In a large bowl whisk together the oil, garlic or garlic powder, soy sauce, sesame seed oil, rice vinegar, and optional hot sauce.
For crispy charred broccoli: Add the chicken and broccoli into the bowl with the marinade. Toss ingredients together to evenly coat with the marinade. Make sure to mix well so the chicken and broccoli can absorb the marinade. There shouldn’t be much of the sauce left in the bottom of the bowl.
Place the marinated chicken & veggies into the air fryer basket.
Air Fry at 380°F/193°C for 16-20 minutes, shaking and gently tossing a couple times while cooking. Make sure to toss well so that everything cooks evenly.
Check the chicken to make sure it is cooked through (time will depend on how big you cut the pieces). If needed, cook for additional 2-5 minutes.
Add additional salt and pepper, to taste. Squeeze fresh lemon juice on top and serve warm.
Notes
Air Frying Tips and Notes:
Shake or turn as directed in the recipe. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket.
If cooking in multiple batches, the first batch will take longer to cook if Air Fryer is not already pre-heated. Recipe timing is based on a non-preheated air fryer
Recipes were tested in 3.4 to 6 qt air fryers. If using a larger air fryer, the recipe might cook quicker so adjust cooking time.
Remember to set a timer to shake/flip/toss as directed in recipe.
