Sesame Green Bean Stir Fry Recipe

  • 1 pound (455g) green beans, cut into 2" pieces
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) sesame seed oil
  • 1 Tablespoon (10ml) soy sauce, or more to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon (10ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon (10ml) oyster sauce *for vegetarian or vegan use Vegetarian Oyster Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon (10ml) water
  • 1 Tablespoon (10ml) cooking oil
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • fresh ground black pepper , to taste
  • (optional) sesame seeds or fresh chopped cilantro for garnish and extra flavor


  1. In bowl combine sesame seed oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, oyster sauce and water. Set aside.
  2. Heat large skillet on medium heat. Add the oil, then the garlic. Saute the garlic until it's soft and translucent.
  3. Add the green beans, stir and cook for about 2 minutes or until they are almost tender. Stir in the sauce mixture and cook for one more minute. Add black pepper to taste and top with cilantro or sesame seeds.
  4. Serve warm over rice or pasta.
